HashCash is an open-source chain combining Bitcoin's UTXO ledger, a Solana-style Proof-of-History clock and hash-based post-quantum signatures.
Each piece is small enough to read in an afternoon and verified by every node.
Coins are discrete outputs, spent whole, as in Bitcoin. Blocks are sealed with SHA-256 proof-of-work.
A sequential SHA-256 chain ticks through every slot and mixes in each transaction. Order is provable and cannot be fast-forwarded.
Every spend is signed with Winternitz one-time keys built only on SHA-256. No elliptic curves to break.
Real SHA-256, real Proof-of-History and real W-OTS signing and verification. This in-page demo is one node. The real binary now runs a peer-to-peer network.
This tab reads straight from a public HashCash seed node. It shows nothing made up: until a seed is online, it says so.
The software is ready: a separate testnet genesis, built-in seed list, Docker and systemd deploys, and a read-only explorer API. Live blocks and peers will appear here as soon as the first public seed goes online.
One Go binary runs the node, the miner and the wallet. Since v0.2, nodes find each other, share transactions and blocks, sync, and follow the valid chain with the most work. Requires Go 1.24 or newer.

Research milestones, not promises.
UTXO ledger, PoH clock, W-OTS spends, wallet CLI, explorer API.
TCP gossip of transactions and blocks, peer discovery, sync from peers, most-work fork choice with reorgs, and bans for bad peers.
Separate testnet genesis, one-command join, always-on seed nodes and a live explorer on this site.
XMSS, SLH-DSA (SPHINCS+) or ML-DSA in place of one-time keys.
Per-slot leaders, difficulty adjustment and parallel PoH verification.
